In the spirit of hospitality, community, celebration and delicious food, Darcy and Greg from DaDe gather friends old and new to their table on a monthly basis. Along with the creative stylings and gourmet delights of the beautiful chef Armine Tatosian, these three inspirational and artistic people serve guests not just food but ideas. Ideas as old as humankind - the support of local agriculture, the value of hospitality and the idea that delicious food enriches the celebration of life and strengthens our connections to each other.
Alice Waters -the inspiration behind the natural food revolution and owner operator of the famous Chez Panisse in Berkley - says it best :
“The power of gathering. It inspires us - delightfully - to be more hopeful, more joyful, more thoughtful, and in a word, more alive.”
The Dade Dinner Club promotes these ideas in spades. I was so grateful to be included in their March Dinner last week. Happier still that they served a Cross Rib Roast from Mitchell Bros. Beef, purchased from local Inglewood grocer and eatery, Bite. Armine turned the the roast into most spectacular Beef Bourguignon I have ever had. Combined with whipped potatoes and stunning green salad, the meal was completed by dessert, which was a delicious as it was beautiful to look at!
Darcy and Greg invite interesting mixes of people and this gathering did not disappoint! I met such lovely and interesting people from different walks of life, different stages of life, and even different countries!
The evening left me feeling joyous, nurtured, and content. I am inspired to pay it forward and reconnect with friends around my own dinner table, of course serving Mitchell Bros. Beef.
With Gratitude, Bette
