Short Ribs are a cut of beef taken from the brisket, chuck, plate, or rib areas of beef cattle. They consist of a short portion of the rib bone, which is overlain by meat which varies in thickness. We normally braise our Short Ribs so we thought we'd shake it up, with homemade BBQ Sauce!
- ¼ cup of Water
- 1 cup ketchup
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 table spoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 lbs short ribs
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
Thaw Short Ribs over night
Bring short ribs to room temperature
Pat with Salt and Pepper and let sit
Chop onion
Mince clove of garlic
Mix water, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, mustard, salt, onion and garlic in the slow cooker set on low
Let the ingredients sit while stirring until the brown sugar and the salt dissolve
Put short ribs in the slow cooker and make sure to coat all sides with sauce
Make sure slow cooker is set on low, cover and let cook for 7 hours
